stress fracture keeps returning can anyone help??

hi can any one help with this, i was diagnosed with a stress fracture on the top of my left foot 2 years ago i wore a plaster cast for 4 weeks which seemed to fix it 6 months later i got the same thing on the outer side of my right foot which i got a removable cast now both feet are hurting again ,i have wore the cast on one foot for 6 weeks and then put it on the other foot but one day after taking it off one foot the pain returns on that foot, my foot also cracks when i walk the doctor keeps saying wear the cast again ????? can anyone help
