pop in calf few inches below knee inside left leg

last night running across the street I had a extremely painful pop that I almost passed out from, I'm 53 go to Curves at least 4 times a week so I'm not that out of shape. Still a little over weight but getting there.
today it is very sore, and for the last few years my heel has been numb, if I bring my toes up towards my shin I get an electric shock and heat sensation that goes away when I drop my toes back down. It does not hurt only when I stretch it upwards, are these related in anyway? the numb heel and the pain in the calf?
I don't want to stop going to Curves.

The Active Ankle offers flexibility and security. It will feel different from anything you have ever worn for ankle protection. The hinge allows freedom of motion that you may not be accustomed to. Do not mistake this freedom of movement for lack of support. A leading university said, the Active Ankle provides more support (inversion) than the leading air-stirrup brace, the leading lace-up brace, or a tape job.
