Without trying to sound too dramatic, surgery is an art, and subject to individual interpretation. In other words. Different doctors might have different opinions, at least on paper. Without actually seeing the problem, I really can't say either way.

You best bet is to ask for copies of your x-rays and get another opinion (or as many as you need to help answer your concerns)
