I am very frustrated. I have been to 2 different doctors; a podiatrist and a world-reknowned ankle surgeon. The podiatrist diagnosed me with Morton's Neuroma in my right foot. I hada series of injections and orthotics, which helped temporarily--she then suggested surgery. I sought out a second opinion. The second Dr. did a Nerve Conductivity test and said that it showed an "extremely severe double-lesion neuoropathy" suggesting Tarsal Tunnel. He suggested surgery immediately. I am not one to jump into surgery, and I do not believe that I have tarsal tunnel. I have no ankle pain, and my pain is very localized between the 3rd and 4th metarsal. The second Dr. kept tapping my ankle saying "you feel pain in other parts of your foot when I do this, right?", and I repeatedly stated no. I need some advice, please. Should I seek out a 3rd opinion? What irritates me the most is the fact that my toes are spreading and "walking on top" of each other. Thank you for your time.
