I have read this article with much interest as I too am suffering with severe pain in both my feet and have done so now for a period of more than three years. I have seen numerous doctors, podiatrists, therapists and goodness knows what all (by the way I am lady of 61 years and have always been very active and still am to a certain extent) and am now attending neurosurgeon (he is the one who came up with peripheral neurophy - after 3/4 visits). I have had so many tests I have lost count. However recently after yet another blood test together with glucose tolerancce test they have discovered that my sugar lelvel is extremely high not quite diabetis but very near. My own Doctor (whom I have every confidence in) does not feel that the sore feet are directly linked to the diabetis so he has put me on a course of Tegretol (100 mg). I must say that this has to a certain extent given me some relief (but considering the pain I was experiencing some relief still means my feet are still extremely painful). Is there anyone out there who can suggest anything that I might try to give me some further relief. (I am now on diet etc to control sugar levels)
Look forward to hearing from someone!!
