The answer lies with you. If you want a professional assessment of your situation, then I recommend you see a podiatrist. If you want to continue (and are ok with) your present course, then don't. There is a large amount of information online about this rather common problem. You mentioned some of the common treatments. There are others that the podiatrist will have available.
