Lump on heel

I have a small, elongated lump on my right foot, about the size of a staple (that's already been stapled!). It's located on my heel, in the middle of the right hand side. It's soft and blue/green in colour. I noticed some pain the other night, that felt as if i'd been wearing high heeled shoes all evening, and then the next morning noticed the bump. It doesn't hurt constantly, only when pressed or when I walk on it.
