Re: Foot support for major hike

First, you must give your foot time to heal. This is a major surgery. Second, hiking boots come in many shapes and styles. I am not an expert, but I recommend a site or magazine such as REI.com or Backpacker's Magazine for suggestions.

You probably should wear a hight top boot. You might need additional ankle support, but that remains to be seen. I would suggest rehabing and building up leg strength with swimming and biking.
