my sons ankle

my question is i have a son thats 10 years old, now before we adopted him at a very young age he was severly physically abused which we through alot of doctors have gotten him through most things but he still suffers alot of extreme pain in his left and right ankle only at night when he rests and only after alot of playing or swimming outside. the doctors think he has capuleitis, but cant give us anything to help except he might outgrow it.
he is small for his age and slim build and very active. we dont know if he suffered any trauma top his ankles when younger or not. but doctors didnt say they seen any signs. this pain occurs about 3 or 4 nights a week and the only thing that seems to help is ibuprofen and rubbing his ankles. for at least an hour.
i hate seeing him wake up in pain at night is there anything else you know of that might help?
thanks bryan and amber

The proprietary gel also provides extra protective padding to help comfort the pain caused by metatarsal soreness. May be used for relieving the burning sensation under the metatarsal heads, calluses and tarsal fat pads.
