crack in skin underneath very bent-under, toe

My toes on my feet are bent forward & sort of under themselves, with the bone being arthritic or having a very big bump in the joint, anyway. On the left foot the toes are worse, because I suffered a bad heel spur on the other foot a few years ago, & limped, walking much more on the left foot before going to the doc, & I widened this poor left foot of mine, and maybe bent the toes worse? ANYWAY...under the middle toe of this left foot I have a crack in the skin, it's been there for months, doesn't look inflamed most of the time, but if I use too warm of covers when sleeping at night, the crack in the bend of the toe stings BADLY, like when we first get a paper cut. It has now stung badly when I walked today.

I can see that because my toes have been bent for so long, the skin underneath them seems to have welded itself together under the toe, and the cut is, I think, caused by when I stretch it, maybe standing firmer on it.

Please, any advice is so very appreciated.

The Active Ankle offers flexibility and security. It will feel different from anything you have ever worn for ankle protection. The hinge allows freedom of motion that you may not be accustomed to. Do not mistake this freedom of movement for lack of support. A leading university said, the Active Ankle provides more support (inversion) than the leading air-stirrup brace, the leading lace-up brace, or a tape job.
