This is a very tough situation and you have my sympathy.

There is a device which is not cheap but it could be helpful called the Roll-a-bout. I can not post URL's due to spam controls I have on this site. You can do a Google search for this.

You might consider an inexpensive cart e.g. Rubbermaid etc on wheels that you could manuver and roll easily.
