severe calcaneal contusions and plantar fascia strain

My son was given that diagnosis after landing a 10' jump too straight legged while skiing. They seemed to think his pain would be gone in a week. Here it is a week later and the pain is the same and he can barely walk. X-rays at Vail Valley Hospital relieved no visible fractures. Should we be surprised at the severity of the pain and the recovery time? Is there anything we can do to hasten his recovery and insure he is able to fully resume all his normal athletic activities? Thanks.

A layer of gel combined with a foot cover to help protect metatarsals and toes from friction and pressure. It also ideal for cushioning the ball of foot and provides warmth for people suffering from arthritis or poor circulation to the toes.
