last three toes are swollen, pink

Hello. Any help you can offer before I go to the doctor would be very much appreciated.

Yesterday, I was walking to lunch in sneakers and socks, same sneakers I wear all the time, and my toes started hurting. It's gotten a little better since I'm wearing flip flops today, but it's my last three toes on both feet, along with the top part of the balls of both feat (where the toes connect underneath). Those three toes ONLY, on both feet, are pink and burning like I have a sunburn, but it's between and underneath the toes too, not just the top, and the pinkness stops a little bit past where the foot connects with the toes. There are no open wounds, bumps, etc. They're just red, a little swollen, and sensitive. They were itching a little last night, but don't now. I have no idea what it could be. I was thinking Athlete's foot, but it's not limited to between the toes and there are no lesions, ulcers, etc. I put some anagesic on them last night and they feel better, but they look worse. Any idea what it could be?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

A silicone insert on the back of the Achillotrain leaves tendon pressure-free and provides intermittent compression for the reduction of swelling and edema.
