Is that when they just cut the ligament? I had a procedure done, in 1996, where they just cut the ligament instead of the usual neuroma surgery. My result was awful, despite having an excellent doctor. He very soon had to go in the traditional way and then the problem was resolved. BUT....my opinion, as a layperson (NOT a doctor) is I very much advise againt any surgery for neuromas. All mine came back, and much worse - in the long run - 5 years later. Most of my foot doctors said they rarely do the surgery anymore due to seeing people like me who are worse off in the long run.
