ankle injury

My daughter's ankle was severely bruised during a soccer match 3 days ago. She ambulates fine and the bruise is residing. She continues to have edema in her ankle. She also has a freely movable object under the skin on the lateral aspect of her ankle joint that is painless. It is about the size of a nickle. She is 18 and has played soccer and run cross country at a high level for several years. Any ideas?
