I dislocated and broke my right ankle, requiring surgery with hardware 2 years ago - the hardware was removed one year ago. I have this reoccurring bruise(approx. every 4-5 months) on the front of my ankle(shin) just above the incision on the inside of the ankle, which only lasts for about 4-5 days. Other than always feeling like I have a permanent shin splint, with the pain sometimes running up to my knee, I don't have any other problems with the ankle...no swelling etc. I physically can do everything I want with only mild discomfort, but this bruise has me wondering if something more serious isn't going on or is this normal healing of this type of injury/surgery. A normal x-ray shows nothing unusual. Thanks you for your time.
