Lump/Bruise on bottom of foot

After sitting on a bar stool at home yesterday, I stood up and felt a big lump on the bottom of my foot, in the padded area under my little toe. I had only been sitting for 15 minutes --- before then everything was fine. The area has remained somewhat swollen for appr 20 hours and turned black (looks like blood underneath the skin). The black appears to be dissipating.
Could a blood vessel have spontaneously burst? Will it heal on its own? Thanks.
