plantar faciitis(sp?)

I have recently returned to running after about a year layoff and have developed pain in my heel after about two weeks. I have gradually increased mileage and run only on trails and grass. I ran for years and raced frequently up to marathon distance and never had this problem. The only difference is that I now work in kitchens and am on my feet all day and wear clogs that cause my toes to curl, which I saw as a cause. WHat should I do and can I run/walk if the pain is mild?
