Lump on Ankle

Friday evening I caught my sneaker on a rug and tripped forward. I caught myself before falling to the ground. As I went forward, my foot went backwards. At first I couldn't walk on it. It felt as if I had a dropped foot. I was finally able to walk on it. There is a large lump on the front of my ankle where the foot meets the bones of the leg.I have iced it and put on an ace bandage.I have taken Motrin up till today for the pain. I have not taken any today since it fe better than it was Friday. When I walk there is a soreness up the front of my shin. I will see the podiatrist Tuesday. Do you think I have damaged ligaments or tendons?

The HealWell Night splint is designed to comfortably position the foot in a controlled amount of dorsiflexion to provide a gentle stretch to the plantar fascia and Achilles Tendon. This gentle stretch helps reduce the muscle contracture, inflammation and associated pain. It has also been clinically proven to reduce symptoms of plantar fasciitis.
