My 96 year old mother

My mother broke both of her feet in January. They healed nicely and quickly. In March, she got shingles. After more than two months of severe suffering, she started to improve. She now has severe pain in her baby toe on her right foot. She cannot stand for anything to touch it. We have been to the medical doctor and have been for vascular studies and both have said that her circulation is good.
The vascular surgeon mentioned that you sometimes get a "hot" spot after a break. Her foot was broken above the ankle on that foot. He also said that this could possibly be from the shingles. He doesn't have any solutions for her pain.
If you have any suggestions, please respond!

Specially developed for the treatment of plantar tendopathy. An area of softer silicone is incoporated on the medial side of the cushion, the area most sensitive to plantar faciitis pain.
