Re: ankle swelling and pain

Having been in practice 28 years, I have seen many injuries that hurt more than are visible on x-rays. The invention of the MRI has been the most helpful tool imaginable for detecting the soft tissue and internal joint injuries that are impossible to see on a conventional x-ray.

I would not be surprised to find out that you have ligamentous and cartilage damge in your ankle.

I recommend you see a podiatrist or orthopedist.
