bump under skin on outer ankle..not on bone

I have a bump under the skin on my outer ankle, not on the bone. The skin in that area is discolored as well, light brown. Can anyone tell me what this could be? It is not painful. It may also be helpful to know that I have sprained that ankle several times. Thank you!
