If you went to a minor emergency center, then I could understand this. If you saw a podiatrist or orthopedist, I would assume they have never treated this type of problem.

If he is young and the growth plates are still open, then both ankles should have been x-rayed for a comparision. I would find it difficult to believe a.) the diagnosis or b.) the return to playing in one week if a.) is correct.
