Torn CFL/ATFL

Hi Dr.Abrams,

I posted to you a while back about my Grade 3 ankle sprain, you suggested requesting an MRI which I have had done. I am now in a pneumatic walking boot for at least 2 weeks.

My question is I am 8 weeks post-injury and still have considerable pain and swelling, my doctor who is a pod. wants to give it some more time before discussing surgery, which I am okay with. My question to you is as a rule how long does it typically take for these to resolve? I know all injuries are different and some heal quicker than others, maybe you could just give a "ballpark estimate"?

Thank you so much for providing this service!
