Pain in heel, top of foot, spreading numbness

First, I'm grateful to have a place to come with my question until I see my new podiatrist in a week. I've been having ankle problems for a few years now and been evaluated for lupus with inconclusive results. In the last few months my ankle pain turned into heel pain with sharp, stiff pain in the top of my foot on waking, which feels like the bones are going to break right through the skin. I finally made an appointment to see a podiatrist when my two little toes started to go numb about two weeks ago. This has progressed and now the outside of my foot back to the heel is very numb and has spread over most of the sole also. When I called to try to move up my appt. they weren't able to do so since I'm a new patient. Do you think whatever my condition might be will be harmed further by waiting another week? It seems to be hard to find a doctor with an opening sooner but I could keep trying. It seems odd to be losing this much sensation and is making me nervous, but on the flip side my pain is getting numbed just a little bit too! Oh and I'd be curious to know if this sounds like anything particularly easy to guess at. Thanks so much for your time.

The proprietary gel also provides extra protective padding to help comfort the pain caused by metatarsal soreness. May be used for relieving the burning sensation under the metatarsal heads, calluses and tarsal fat pads.
